SCITUATE PROJECT STATUS
Right of Way work will occur during extended hours throughout the Town of Scituate with work starting at 7:00 am and extending to 8:00 pm as necessary - work is likely to occur during the same hours on Saturdays as well.
Grade Crossings: First Parish Road has re-opened to traffic. Phase one of paving and curb work is complete. The sidewalk has been re-established on the north side of the street. Crews have just about completed the final curbing and sidewalk work and paving.
Country Way grade-crossing work in North Scituate is on going. Utility and drainage work continues within the existing work zone. Motorists traveling east on Henry Turner Bailey Road seeking Gannett Road are reminded to yield to oncoming traffic, as they turn left across Country Way. Motorists should use caution and exercise patience while traveling through this area.
Captain Pierce Road grade crossing is open in its permanent alignment - the minor roadway elements that CBB has been working on over the past few weeks are essentially complete.
Hollett Street closed during the week of August 21 for the installation of the new culvert under Hollett Street. This closure will also allow CBB to complete to the grade crossing work. Hollett Street will likely re-open as soon as Verizon has moved its line from the utility poles and we can repave the road.
Track Work: Track has been laid throughout the Town of Scituate - crews will continue to prepare the track for active use. Rail is in the process of being moved from the layover facility at Greenbush through to Beechwood Street in Cohasset. Saturday work is likely along most of the right of way.
Bridge Work: The Bound Brook rail-bridge is nearly complete.
Greenbush Station: Old Driftway Road has been paved and currently crews are installing curbing and sidewalks with the goal of opening the road in the next couple of weeks. Access to the businesses on Old Driftway will be maintained. The platform canopy structure has been installed.
The North Scituate Station site continues to be used as a lay down area. The platform has been installed.
