CBB will begin to rail into place through out the Town of Hingham for next two weeks.
I hope that the following will help explain the steps necessary. Day closures are necessary to either load rail onto the spine train to be transported down the line or where rail is actually pushed across a crossing. Intermittent closures, 10-12 minutes are necessary in instances where rail is being off loaded, but some of the rail remains across a crossing in the process, finally, as the spine train, carrying rail moves across a crossing, traffic will be delayed 3-5 minutes allowing the train to pass. CBB has been coordinating these moves with the Town of Hingham to assure they are carried out safely.
Rail has been moved across Hull Street and over the next week, we will be moving rail through to Kilby and Summer Streets. Kilby Street will be closed to traffic mid to late next week. The goal is to have all of the rail installed through and including the underpass by Thanksgiving.
