BRAINTREE PROJECT STATUS

Weymouth Landing Station/Underpass site: On Quincy Avenue, some short-term lane closures may be required to support underpass construction - we anticipate closures on Quincy Ave late this week and early next week to support concrete pours in the tunnel.

The station platform walls have been installed and crews are currently installing the station platform panels.
|
|
Grade Crossings:
Commercial Street is currently detoured at Front Street in Braintree for ongoing grade crossing construction. CBB is optimistic that this grade crossing will open on November 10th. Once the grade crossing is open to traffic, work will commence on drainage installation and ultimately paving of Front Street.

Once the Commercial at Front Street grade crossing is re-opened, we will close the Allen Street grade crossing permanently to complete that piece of track work, etc.

|
Right of Way work:
Right of Way crews will are working between Route 3 (Braintree Wye) and Allen Streets. Track has been installed - slope work continues.

Bridge Work: Crews are completing construction of the southerly halves of the Monatiquot River bridges - bridgework continues at both of these structures.
Crews will also continue to work on the Mill Lane Bridge. Crews have poured both of the bridge abutments. When Shaw Street re-opens, we will need to close Mill Lane permanently to install the bridge, etc.

CBB will perform 2-3 weeks of work installing drilled foundations for an earth support system between the Monatiquot River Bridge and Mill Lane. This work was originally planned as a two-shift operation - currently CBB is making good enough progress to hopefully avoid the need for night work.

Work on the Shaw Street Bridge is progressing. We are hoping to have the bridge open to traffic by November 10th.
